Joni Eareckson-Tada Recovering From Breast Cancer Surgery
Joni Eareckson-Tada is recovering after successful breast cancer surgery.
The 60-year-old author and minister to the disabled will need chemotherapy treatments, but doctors say the type of cancer she endured is 'highly survivable.'
You may remember Joni has been a quadriplegic since her teens, thanks to an ocean dive. She became an excellent painter, holding her brush in her mouth. There was an excellent movie made about her life, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Eventually, she married Ken Tada.
Her ministry, Joni and Friends, provides wheelchairs to disabled people around the world.
The ministry is asking for continued prayers on her behalf. Feel free to send a note of encouragement to her through her website. She could use it!

Glad to hear that Joni is now recovering from surgery. She is one of the Christians whom God has used to bless my life. I really like her songs. Will surely continue to pray for her.
I am sure Joni will covet your prayers, Chin Chin. How are your babies?
And, again, I find your blog extremely encouraging and inspirational. Keep writing!
Dear Joni, you don't know me but we are sisters in Christ. I don't expect I will meet you this side of Heaven. I did hear you once in VA at a National Day of Prayer gathering, I think. You have been an inspiration in my spiritual walk. I pray for you often, and it makes me pray for others I don't even know who have the same health challenges you have. I was stunned and then brought to tears to just hear about your breast cancer. But then, after getting online to catch up on it, I was ashamed of myself for feeling so sad. I know God is using you in this Joni. You are the third "friend" I have heard of recently dealing with cancer. God is bigger and I know "when we are weak He is strong". I will continue to pray for you Joni. My heart goes out to you. Thank your for being so transparent and open. I love your books and Diamonds in the Dust is often a morning "starter". Hugs, Annette McBride, Pass Christian, MS
Annette, I'm sure Joni thanks you for your words of encouragement. I will pass them on to her. Why didn't you write these words on Joni's website? It's listed in the post.
