An Urgency For National Prayer

Last night I felt an urgency to pray for our nation. I thought of II Chronicles 7:14:

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

If ever our nation needed God's healing, it is now! My parents heard FDR's June 6, 1944 Radio Address and never has it been more relevant than it is today.

It was D-Day, 1944 and millions gathered 'round the radio to hear The President's Address to the Nation. What they heard was not blaming any former president, nor any ally nation. They heard no demeaning of America whatsoever.

What they heard was a prayer to Almighty God. What a novel perspective FDR had! Would that we could have a president who would ask that God's will be done today! God knows we need a President with such wisdom!



Oh, God, give us YOUR man to lead our nation as we do as Your scripture instructs us. Let us be obedient, beginning with individual self-government.
