CA Has Good News For Returning Vets!

Vets Grateful for Education
Good news for returning veterans! California - the first state to do this - is offering education to them! Since the original G.I. Bill, no educational  opportunities have been available to men and women who have served our country. So kudos to California!  California and the Department of Veterans Affairs is teaming to do to make sure that veterans don't get left behind when it comes to a good education.

Individuals who have served or are currently serving in the US Armed Forces can avail themselves of educational opportunities to develop skills which will benefit themselves and the communities in which they live.

Veterans or current servicemen and women who reside in California or who are stationed in California can take advantage of the state's wealth of post-secondary educational options - including community colleges as well as four-year degree granting institutions.

Students can choose from among 23 CSU campuses and over 1,800 bachelor's and master's degree programs in some 240 subject areas.

More than 2 million students have graduated from CSU campuses and have helped to shape the future of California and the nation. That's why a CSU education is an opportunity to make a difference.

This opportunity comes at an appropriate time since male vet unemployment is over 11% and female vet unemployment is 14.7% (higher than the national average), according to fresh data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

If you are a vet, or you know one, CLICK HERE to watch a great video spelling it all out.

I'm so proud to be a Californian! This opportunity is enough to make me cry!
